Last night we saw our favorite comedian at the Warner Theater in DC! We've missed out on seeing Eddie Izzard a couple of times ever since we were anywhere that he goes for his tours (not Alaska).
My face and abs still hurt from laughing so much. His new material was pretty brilliant. A late-arriving couple in the row in front of us almost got kicked out within the first 10 minutes of the show because the woman was ludicrously drunk and screaming "I love you!" and "You're fucking amazing!".
She was so disruptive that Eddie went into a 5-minute explanation/insult of why she should "shut the fuck up", much to the audience's enjoyment. She kept yelling and standing and her companion would grab her mouth and try to keep her sitting and under control. After she went limp for a while they both got up and left for the rest of the evening...thank goodness...

Anyway!
He is touring the eastern half of the United States, having wrapped up a European tour, where he occasionally performs in French or German (which is anecdotally mentioned in the English shows). The show went for nearly three hours, with a hilarious finale covering the absurdity of dressage horse competition.
We stuck around in the lobby to hear his Q&A with fans. He was very polite and tried to answer as many questions as he could in 15-or-so minutes. One person asked what historical figures he'd most like to meet (since a lot of his material is derived from historic stories) and he said Richard I (since it is speculated that he was gay) and Napoleon so that he could ask about the Battle of Austerlitz.
