Memorial Day Weekend in Pittsburgh

Friday: Nats vs Pirates at PNC park.  We lost.  At least the views were great.  We ate a late lunch at a gastropub where I had some tasty wings and Hans' burger came on a glazed donut "bun".

Saturday: National Aviary, where Hans got to hold a worm in his hand while a bird swooped in and stole it!  At the Carnegie museums of natural history and art we saw an impressive gem/mineral exhibit, dinosaurs, and some very bizarre modern art.  Dinner at an authentic German restaurant nearly killed me because I wanted to eat everything!

Sunday: Had a great time at Kennywood Park, one of the oldest amusement parks in America (opened in 1898).  Their wooden coasters were lots of fun and not nearly as jarring as others around the USA.  The racing coaster was one of the best I've ever been on.  I was brave enough to ride in the front car with Hans a couple of times.  The park is situated on a hilltop overlooking the Monongahela River and the weather couldn't have been more perfect.  After catching dinner, we drove 4 hours back home.
