Alaska 2022 - Old Hobbies Die Hard

This morning there was just enough time for a walk around Potter's Marsh before Hans had a lunch meetup.  Hans' sister and I went to lunch in midtown at Yak and Yeti Cafe (sooo yummy) and enjoyed some time browsing at Title Wave Books.

Afterwards we got down to business: Kincaid Park Disc Golf!  The rain actually stopped during our game and we enjoyed a very chill afternoon at one of our favorite places in town.  When I worked at the chalet I enjoyed the perk of being the one responsible for locking the park gate at night.  Hans and our friends would come out near closing time and we'd finish a round with all of the other late-comers (since the sun is up late into the night).  I gave everyone else fair warning: Anyone who wasn't out of the park or leaving by the time I was locking up were going to have to call APD and ask to be let out.

Look at this friggin view!

It was nice to see that the starts at each hole are being maintained with new cement and raised platforms.  The course has been adjusted a couple of times over the years but some of the original fairways still exist.  I got a disc thoroughly stuck in a group of pine trees.  Hans and his sister threw half of the forest at the trees and eventually got the Frisbee down.  However, we left several logs up in the branches that hopefully won't land on someone's head when they eventually fall down!

On our way out of the park I begged for us to stop at the nearby Tastee-Freez, one of only four locations left in the world!

I regret nothing
