Early on we recognized how out of shape we are. At the false summit we shared a can of Kodiak Brown Ale and some snacks. The weather was really dynamic and a couple of times we thought the rain might turn severe.
Technically we parked in a public lot in the middle of a construction zone, so we were amused by watching the big rigs have to carefully duck around my parents' vehicle while we sat high up on the mountain. When we walked by everyone as we made our way back to the car no one said anything to us so obviously nobody cared.
The rest of the drive down we stopped occasionally to take pictures and stretch our legs. When we got back to Anchorage we stopped at Bear Tooth for the obvious pizza pilgrimage and stuffed ourselves silly with way too much food!
Like I said...
